About me

Durim Morina

Heyo everyone! Durim here! Welcome to my website!

I’m a writer, originally from Belgium, but I spend most of my time on the road. I use this website to make sense of things in my life. I’m interested in writing, traveling, mental health, sports, and trying out new things.

Having this blog is a lot about showcasing my writings and pushing me to create more. In a world where generic AI content floods the internet, I take pride in writing every word myself. As I experience life, I keep growing and learning. I love to write about the ephemeral moments, important lessons, and deep insights that come to me.

Besides my blog posts, I also write poetry, mostly in Dutch. My first poetry book, Transit: Over ongrijpbare gedachten en hoe je de nacht overleeft (2019), is available as a free ebook. New work will appear here every once in a while as well.

My Story/Journey

Phase One
In mid-COVID 2021, I burned out as a high-school teacher, lost my footing in a changing world, and got hospitalized on a scary morning to be diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I hit a dead-end while I was supposed to be in the prime of my life. Then and there, I decided to take control. I recalibrated my life from fear to love—quitting my job, breaking ties with toxic friends, and prioritizing my mental and physical health. I discovered and embodied the infamous quote by Confucius:
"We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one."

Phase Two
I went out into the world to explore and learn. I tried to travel as much as I could. Along the way, I built new skills, increased my confidence, and kept discovering new parts of myself. I went wherever the wind would take me.

Because of this lifestyle, I got to carve out my own path. I danced my heart out in Colombia, trained as a yoga teacher in the middle of the jungle, and worked a series of odd jobs to sustain myself. My dharma—my why—kept becoming clearer with every step: I’m meant to share all of this wisdom and beauty with others.

Phase Three
Now, I’m in the external embodiment of everything I’ve learned over the past four years. I want to help people find peace and meaning in their lives—not by imposing my way of life on them, but by sharing the tools that have helped me. I’m an eternal student of life, and this project is all about taking you on a ride with me.
